Your home has the power to uplift and inspire your mood; your bedroom should be a tranquil getaway from the stresses of your day and the dining room a space to gather friends and family around. That was the thinking when we restyled Tom and Danie Raffield’s home with our favourite furniture and lighting pieces, plus home accessories from a few brands we've had our eye on of late. Be inspired and make time for your own update at home.
Make your bedroom your happy place. We created a calm and comforting sanctuary with the help of a few simple lifestyle and styling tricks. Let the outdoors in and place a plant by your bedside to purify the air – we used our handcrafted Stuggy Side Tables
and Helix Pendant lights
to create a symmetrical bedside table with the Giant No.1 Pendant light
as a statement centrepiece. Treat yourself to some new bed linen; choose natural breathable fibres. Swap looking at mobile phones for some holistic crafting wrapped up in a luxury throw. Let the morning light and cool fresh breeze waft in and savour the moment.
Gather-round dining room
Forget formal and stuffy and make the dining room the heart of the home. Invest in a table big enough to gather plenty of friends around for a feast, like the 240cm 8-10 seater Treave Dining Table
made from sustainably sourced oak. Benches offer flexible options when additional bottoms need seating – we used a mix of Arbor Dining Chairs
and the Crib Bench
. This time we hung our Giant No.1 Pendant lights
in a cluster above the table to light-up and draw attention to the dining table. Finally we adorned the table with new table linens, a large vessel filled with fruit as a centrepiece and some beautiful ceramic tableware.
Liven up your living room
Living rooms should be made to, well… live in! For us lots of flexible comfy seating options are key; the Arbor Sofa
to kick back on, the Arbor Armchair
for a comfy solo reading spot, plenty of Beeble Pouffes
to pick up and throw around to sit where you wish, and the Crib Stool
which can double up as side table or spare seat. Cups of tea and coffee can be placed on the May Coffee Table
We used various pendant lights to provide downward lighting and add drama and interest to the living room, including the Urchin Pendant lights
in various finishes and sizes to create a clustered lighting effect, and the Skipper Pendant light
. Mirrors can add light and brightness to a room, as well as making the room appear larger – here we used the Haryln Mirror
. Again, we brought a pop of colour in with greenery from Trevena Cross Nurseries
and blooms from Recipe for Flowers
