We're on the hunt for a Trainee Workshop Craftsman for our Furniture Department to assist in the preparation and crafting of our handmade high quality wooden furniture range. This is an exciting hands-on role in the Tom Raffield workshop, making furnture for Tom Raffield's high end and discerning customers.

 

Job Title: Trainee Workshop Craftsman - Furniture

Reporting to: Workshop Team Leader

Salary: £15,500

Job Description:

Handmaking steam bent furniture – from processing through to finishing.

Quality control throughout process.

Process improvement.

Provide occasional support to other areas – logistics, lighting etc.

 

The successful candidate will:

Be very hard working.

Be practical.

Be keen to learn and interested in all of the processes involved in the crafting of the furniture range.

Work well under pressure and to specific instructions as well as being able to self-motivate and manage own workload.

Work well to tight deadlines & be good at prioritising tasks.

Have great initiative and be interested in making improvements, especially in relation to quality.

Take pride in their work.

Have great problem-solving skills.

Be organised, tidy, flexible.
