Tom Raffield is currently seeking a Trainee Workshop Craftsman for the Lighting Department. You will assist in the preparation and crafting of the handmade high quality wooden lighting range. This is an exciting hands on role in the Tom Raffield workshop, making lighting for Tom Raffield’s high end and discerning customers.

 

Job Title: Trainee Workshop Craftsman - Lighting

Reporting to: Workshop Team Leader

Salary: £15,500

Job Description:

Preparation and steam bending of wood.

Handmaking lights.

Finishing of lights.

Quality control throughout process.

Process improvement.

Provide occasional support to other areas – logistics, furniture etc.

 

The successful candidate will:

Be very hard working.

Be practical.

Be keen to learn and interested in all of the processes involved in the crafting of the lighting range.

Work well under pressure and to specific instructions as well as being able to self-motivate and manage own workload.

Work well to tight deadlines & be good at prioritising tasks.

Have great initiative and be interested in making improvements, especially in relation to quality.

Take pride in their work.

Have great problem-solving skills.

Be organised.
