New in: Skipper Lighting Designs

20 August 2020

Champions of sustainable, honest and handcrafted design, Tom Raffield’s newest sustainable lighting range does not disappoint…

Experts in designing and handcrafting unique wooden lighting, Tom Raffield expand their collection by launching flush fitting ceiling lights for the very first time and add a dynamic new wall light design to the bestselling Skipper Lighting Range.

Sustainably designed and handcrafted in South Cornwall, Tom Raffield designs are synonymous with nature; each product is hand-shaped using sustainable wood and created as sculptural pieces of art using a pioneering form of steam bending.

Joining Tom Raffield's bestselling, iconic Skipper Lighting Range come three new designs - two flush fitting ceiling lights and an eye-catching wall light. Each of the new designs continue to showcase the brand's signature curves and physically embody Tom Raffield's nature-inspired ethos.

Designed to suit lower ceiling heights and smaller interiors, the new Flush Fitting Ceiling Lights offer the same curved, modern aesthetic as the brand's iconic lighting pieces without taking up too much space. The two new decorative designs are available in both a standard and small size and come in a choice of three popular sustainably sourced wood types - ash, oak and walnut. By introducing a flush fitting fixture for the very first time, the compact pieces are intended to make Tom Raffield's designer lighting more accessible and usable in both modern and older property styles.

Raffield's new Skipper Wall Light, available in ash, oak and walnut wood to marry with other designs in the popular Skipper Lighting Range, produces striking shadows and a golden glow of transfixing warm, ambient light. Supplied with a wall mounted fitting, the new design hopes to transform space in the flick of a switch and create a memorable statement in any interior.

The new collection includes:

Using wood to craft the next generation of design.

Combining traditional techniques with modern design principles, Tom Raffield continues to break new ground. From their origins in 2008, right up to their pioneering products and services today, Tom Raffield has become known for the transformation of wood using a unique method of steam bending to create the studio’s signature curved aesthetic and designs with a twist.
