Tom Raffield Grand Designs Home

Grand Designs

Hidden among the trees in a beautiful piece of Cornish woodland is the steam bent house that Tom Raffield built.

Tom and his wife Danielle have long dreamed of being able to live and work amongst an inspiring natural environment and after two years of creative exploration they finished their biggest project to date - a spectacular home designed in an innovative and architectural take on their steam-bent furniture and lighting. Aired on Channel 4's Grand Designs at the end of 2016, Kevin McCloud and his team documented their journey from frivolous idea to the realisation of their dream.

"This place has the potential to be Tom’s masterpiece; the summation of his life's work" - Kevin McCloud, presenter of Grand Designs
