Curated By You: Transforming Space
How will you style yours? We caught up with Toro Studio for some tips on how to curate and care for your Green Range Planter houseplants.
Plants have the power to change the dynamics of a space; bringing life and vitality, colour and form to otherwise lacklustre environments. They cleanse the air around us, shape our mood and lift our spirits.
To celebrate the launch of our exclusive new Green Range we caught up with our friend Tor, from Toro Studio, to find out why she chose certain plants, and how she styled them, for our recent photo shoot.
Merryn Floor Standing Planter
Sixteen blades of twisting steam bent oak stand shoulder to shoulder in striking spherical conduct to support a nestled, handmade earthenware bowl. A unique and eye-catching elliptical floor standing planter that is guaranteed to bring any space to life.
(Left) Being one the most popular houseplants, Cacti are relatively easy to care for and require very little upkeep, especially in the winter months. We love how Toro Sudio have teamed our Merryn Floor Planter with this Euphorbia Ingens - a fast growing cacti capable of reaching over fifteen meters in height! Situate in any corner of the home to draw the eye and become a great conversation starter.
(Right) If you prefer a more classic take on houseplants, opt to fill your Merryn Planter with an Olive Tree and bring a Mediterranean touch to your interior. With their evergreen leaves and silver toned bark, Olive Trees can create a peaceful, calming ambience within any space. Tor recommends positioning your Merryn Planter close to a brightly-lit window to keep your Olive Tree happy, no matter the season.
Indoor palms, such as this Parlour Palm, are vibrant and sculptural with vertically growing evergreen stalks and fronds. They add a lot of drama to a space and can be really striking centre pieces for the home. Tor recommends positioning your palm in a bright spot - but never in direct sunlight, and suggests spraying the leaves of your Palm frequently to create humidity.
"Palms often do well in spaces where there is natural humidity such as bathrooms and kitchens".

Morvah Wall Hanging Planter
Signature, singular, strong. A steam bent piece of solid oak loops around and embraces a hand-glazed earthenware planter bowl creating a unique, wall hanging feature.
(Left) This String of Hearts succulent looks fantastic paired with our Morvah Wall Hanging Planter due to its trailing, distinctive heart-shaped foliage. Showcase the plant's delicate, heart shaped leaves and interesting aesthetic by hanging the Morvah Planter to the side of a sunny window.
(Right) Our Morvah Wall Hanging Planter also makes a brilliant place to grow a range of herbs for use in the kitchen. Here Tor has chosen a classic Basil plant, a common, multipurpose herb that exudes a sweet, earthy aroma and is perfect to include in a range of summer cocktails (as illustrated above!).
Morvah Ceiling Hanging Planter
The curved embrace of an oak bend meets the sleek edge of ceramic to nurture verdant new life. The Morvah suspends its earthenware ceramic bowl from an arm of gently curving oak - a statement yet simplistic addition to any interior space.
(Left) Toro Studio have paired our Morvah Ceiling Hanging Planter with a Spanish Moss Air Plant in this image to create a laid back, neutral vibe. Air Plants, or Tillandsia do not need soil to survive; they collect nutrients from the air through tiny hairs on their leaves instead of up through the roots like other plants.
"Air plants are a low maintenance type of house plant that offer a multitude of creative ways to be displayed".
-Toro.
(Right) If you are looking to fill your Green Range Planter with an interesting houseplant that will provide a unique focal point to your space, then Tor thinks the 'Senecio rowleyanus' or String of Pearls succulent is for you. Sprawling over the edges of it's earthenware ceramic bowl, the 'String of Beads' plant resembles a beaded necklace with its fleshy green, pea-like foliage. Pair with a Ceiling Hanging Planter and place by a window for optimum impact.
