Installation for Raymond Blanc's Jardin Blanc at Chelsea Flower Show
We had the honour of being invited to design a unique installation for Raymond Blanc's Jardin Blanc at RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
The post-Chelsea blues are kicking in and we've spent this week reminiscing about our favourite moments from this years Chelsea Flower Show. One of our absolute highlights has to be our Jardin Blanc steam bent tree display for world-renown chef, Raymond Blanc.
Our Jardin Blanc design took inspiration from our signature steam bent tree displayed at Heal's Festival of Light and our Pop Up Shop event for London Design Festival last September, but featured thicker steam bent sections of ash wood (as seen below).
The original design concept behind the steam bent tree incorporated a range of pendant lights including our Skipper, Urchin and Cape Lights however, the final structure suspended only our iconic No.1 Pendants in ash, oak and walnut wood.
"We chose to use just the No.1 Pendants for the Jardin Blanc installation as the structure looked a lot neater when adorned with just one type of pendant. We also incorporated the Morvah Ceiling Hanging Planters, part of our new Green Range, into the tree design which was really successful and added a hint of green to the wooden aesthetic."
- Tom Raffield, Designer.
If you didn't make it to Jardin Blanc this year you can still enjoy a taste of Chelsea at home... We caught up with Warner Edwards Distillery, responsible for running the Jardin Blanc gin bar, to find out the recipe for their delicious 'Chelsea late Cocktail'.
"The Chelsea Late cocktail is made with delicious Harrington Honeybee Gin, stirred with love and topped with rose petals!"
- Warner Edwards Distillery.
Here's what you need:
35ml Warner Edwards Honeybee Gin
20ml Rose Syrup
15ml Cucumber juice
15ml Lemon juice
10ml Maraschino
Soda to mix
Ice cubes
Method:
Place all ingredients except for the soda into a shaker, fill with ice and shake.
Tip - use a jigger when measuring ingredients to keep the cocktail balanced.
Strain the contents into a glass filled with ice. Top with Soda, stir, and garnish with rose petals before serving.
Cheers!
