2022 has been an optimistic year for everyone here at Tom Raffield, and this is through your support – and for this we can’t thank you, our customers and partners, enough. The world has experienced a lot in the last twelve months and although difficult to navigate at times, our wonderful team here in Falmouth has made each day full of joy and camaraderie. We take a moment to reflect on last year and showcase some of our 2022 highlights…

New Designs

We have been lucky enough to showcase a range of new handcrafted designs this year. From expanding our iconic, wooden lighting range, to new additions to our home accessories collections, our talented team have been busy creating timeless pieces for you to treasure.

Kanna Drum Pendant. Inspired by the precision hand tool used in Japanese woodworking, the Kanna design celebrates the strength and delicacy of sustainably sourced wood.

Seya Lighting Range. Echoing the shapes formed as the soft light of dawn plays on the morning dew, the Seya Lighting Range’s graceful curving form invites a moment of pause. For serenity seeking spaces, the Seya Lighting Range mirrors the calm found at sunrise.

Tilow Lighting Range. Representing the first strong branch that is born from a mighty oak tree, the wooden steam bent Tilow Lighting Range allows nature’s forms to enhance your interior’s personality. A big sister to our Hanter design, the Tilow can suspend a fully exposed bulb, or showcase a selection of our iconic lampshades.

Verso Table Light. Joining the sculptural Verso Lighting Range, the Verso Table Light casts a beautiful blend of light and shadow across your tabletop.

Shore Pendant. A welcome addition to our coastal Comber Lighting Range. Adorning homes with the calming complexity of coastal forms, the wooden Shore Pendant graces interiors with our iconic curving forms.

Ash Accessories Additions

Laris Wall Hook. With versatility in its nature, the Laris Wall Hook makes every inch of your wall space work hard. The clothes hook makes wall storage easy and can sit proudly alone or thrive in multiples, transforming hallways, bedrooms, and bathrooms into a space of adaptability and convenience.

Housel Shelf Small. Shaped from supple ash wood, the fluid curves of our circular Housel Shelf Small challenges everyday linear storage solutions. A solid wooden shelf nestles within a flowing steam bent hoop, creating a practical wall space for your favourite treasures.

Meru Trio Peg Rail. A single piece of sustainably sourced ash wood hosts a trio of looping tan, brown or black leather loops, each fixed with a brushed brass tipped wooden coat peg, allowing you to hang, drape or thread your wears.

Growing Green Range

Mantol Planter. Rooted by a graceful steam bent hoop of sustainably sourced oak, the Mantol’s elevated earthenware vessel can be tilted on its base to allow optimum light levels to reach your foliage.

Kyru Vases. Showcasing sleek simplicity whilst admiring nature, our Japandi inspired vase collection has the perfect vessel for your handpicked stems. Brightening up any interior, the contemporary, curving form plays perfect host to fresh blooms or dried flowers. The Kyru Vase is available in three sizes and a trio set.

Sustainability

Ecologi. We celebrated two years of planet protection with Ecologi. Aiding the world's recovery through replanting, renewing, and restoring, we are proud to work alongside Ecologi’s vital projects.

Replenishing the world’s forests is at the heart of Ecologi, and as you can imagine, right up our street. Working alongside Protect Earth, new trees have been planet nationwide on our behalf – from Scotland to the Cotswolds, these trees are creating a huge impact. British wildlife heavily relies on forest cover, so replanting our forests will save hundreds of habitats and allow species to return to the wild.

Making the smallest of changes can often have the biggest impact. Ecologi are currently supporting two cookstoves projects in Ghana and Zambia. These projects both aim to provide communities with more fuel-efficient cooking methods to reduce the amount of air pollution created and biomass used currently. With a lower cost to the families, and reduced exposure to damaging pollutants, these projects will create strong communities, and healthier people.

Events and collaborations

Chelsea Flower Show 2022. Whilst you wouldn’t have found a statement steam bent Tom Raffield garden at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, our handcrafted lighting, furniture, and homeware could still be found at the Fairmount Windsor Park Treehouse by Blue Forest.

We have been lucky enough to work with a host of talented interior experts this year as they gave us valuable knowledge and handy styling tips. This year, we have had renovation advice from Abigail Beddow, biophilic beauty from Mona Fox and refreshing interior tips from Melissa Ritchie.
